Welcome! My name is Carissa.

I’m a Shadow Work Practitioner. And an Emotional Alchemist.

I practice a philosophy of radical honesty about what I’m feeling and going through. I don’t bypass it. I feel it all deeply and allow it to inform the decisions I make. This creates a deep knowing and trusting that I’m making moves in life that are in alignment with my biggest goals.

But I didn’t always know how or that I could do this. And at first, most of my Emotions felt really bad. I was depressed, co-dependent, a people pleaser, a perfectionist and I had to learn how to re-sensitize to my Emotions. And then how to heal them. I learned that I had repressed parts of myself to the point that I wasn’t even aware those parts of me existed. And that by doing Shadow Work, I could reclaim and integrate them back into my personality.

All of this unfolded over a 7-year period (2019 - 2025). On this journey, I didn’t know what the point of any of it was. But I journaled almost daily as I went through it.

Perhaps one of the worst lies that we tell ourselves is that “we’re the only ones who go through our pain”. No one knows what it’s like. No one cares. No one would like us if we told them the horrible thoughts in our heads. Or saw how pathetic we really were in our negative emotions. Lies. Horrible lies that make us feel like shit, alone, and stuck.

So I want to share what I went through. All the hard stuff. The horrid thoughts and the worst feelings that we don’t want to admit. Shame, embarrassment, rejection, jealousy. I don’t hold anything back. I know how shitty it is to feel like you’re behind in life. Alone. Incapable. Unlovable. Unworthy. And hopelessly lost or stuck.

I know I can’t be the only one who has felt this stuff. So I started a YouTube channel, “Carissa Explains It All”, to tell my story of what it looks like to go through the process of Emotional Healing and Shadow Work.
